Battlefield Region is a local car club that is part of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA). Generally, the definition of an antique as applied to an automobile or truck is that it must be a model year that is 25 years old or older. However, as no car is required to join, if you like cars and want to associate with others who do, this is the club for you. We have many members who have collectible cars (at least we hope that they are collectible) that are not yet 25 years old - cars such as early '80s Camaros, Firebirds, Corvettes and Mustangs; and some newer cars such as PT Cruisers, Prowlers and late-model Corvettes. Other members do have some of the older cars from the '30s, '40s and '50s, although the majority or the vehicles owned by the Battlefield Region membership are from the '60s and early '70s. And some of our members even have cars manufactured outside the U.S.A., such as MG's, Jaguars and a Lotus, to name a few. Not all of our cars are stock. We have a number of members that have Hot Rods, Street Rods and Customs. Some have both. The bottom line is, if it is a car it is welcome. If you love cars, you are welcome.
In addition to the association with others with a consuming interest in cars, you will receive periodic issues of our Newsletter, the Battlefield Flyer. You will also receive bi- monthly the AACA publication Antique Automobile. Membership allows you to enter you car in AACA-sanctioned shows and to compete for prestigious AACA awards. If you are more into driving your pride and joy, various AACA Regions periodically sponsor driving tours. The Battlefield Region will generally have six or more events involving driving your car to a location. Generally these are one-day trips (or just a few hours). We meet usually once a month for an activity.See list of events
The Club's Board of Directors meets monthly, and members are welcome to attend the meetings. Finally, we have a big car show each October at the Galleria Mall at Cool Springs in Franklin. A local Williamson County charity is usually the beneficiary of a substantial portion of the profits, with other local charities benefiting to lesser degrees. The car show is a great event, much work and much fun as well as a chance to show off your car.
